The Karoo has many faces. As the sun moves across the sky, as the globe spins on its axis, as it rotates around our star, these faces change, constantly.
This is one of the most beautiful views I have had the privilege to behold. It lies on the Karoo plains of the Eastern Cape. The view is from an impossibly high mountain, from a spot where no one ever goes; and the photo was made one Winter’s afternoon as a cold front was chasing a hot wind. Snow followed this day, and the face of the Karoo changed once again, completely.
