In my “home” time, to keep my creative juices flowing and to have the opportunity to capture real people beautifully, I run a humble, intimate little portrait studio in my home town, Prince Albert. It’s a project that brings much happiness and joy, and I aim to keep treating it like the love-project it is, with few sessions, tended with care and passion.
In March 2017 I was so fortunate to do a couple of shoots in studio, in between other commissions and obligations. The lovely Petra answered a model call I put out earlier this year, and after interviewing her, I couldn’t wait to get to the shoot. She’d never done a professional photo shoot before, and though she was very nervous at first, it was great to see her relax after I could show her the first few shots on the back of camera, so that she could see how lovely she looked.
It was very rewarding to capture this striking woman and her personality – something I hold sacred, because I know what a responsibility it is when someone entrusts you with their image, baring their soul for the camera.
We did a couple of looks and mixed artificial and natural light. She was a gem in studio and editing these images was very rewarding.
Make-up was done professionally by talented local make-up artist, Rachelle de Villiers of Salon de Belleza.
If you are in or of Prince Albert, contact me for a free consultation in my sweet little studio to discuss the best option for your portrait session. I also do on-location portrait shoots, portfolios and business headshots, and with my mobile lighting setup, I can work just about anywhere.
