The Huaxi Night Market is a two-block long night market in Wanhua District, the oldest district of Taipei. It contains stands serving local snacks, and restaurants that serve traditional Taiwanese dishes and many delicacies including snake blood and meat, turtle blood and meat and deer penis wine. Visiting here is a stimulating experience, different but not so different at all from the streets outside. This city never sleeps, and the night market culture means that there is activity deep into the night in any of the cities, with endless options of food and things to purchase.
The brightly lit market entrance has somewhat of a sinister energy to it, especially set against the starless night sky. Perhaps more so with the knowledge of what it contains.
